Contributing Items

This page describes the mechanism for an UrbanSim user to contribute or update an item, such as a script.

To submit a new item, you can either add it yourself to the UrbanSim trac wiki, or ask the UrbanSim team to do it for you.

Adding an Item Yourself

You'll need a trac account. If you don't have one already, use this form to request one: https://trondheim.cs.washington.edu/trac-account/

Then add a wiki page name for your contribution to the list on the UserContributions page, and edit the page appropriately to describe your item. Please include:

  • Title
  • Summary description
  • Author
  • Organization
  • Contact info
  • Opus/UrbanSim version
  • The item (e.g. script) itself. Typically you'll want to use the 'attach file' button to upload the item.
  • Other detailed documentation (e.g. installation instructions, screenshots, etc.) about the item
  • Any other materials you consider appropriate.

You can come back later and edit the wiki page to update the contribution.

Submitting an Item by Email

Alternatively, you can email your new item to usercontrib at urbansim dot org -- please include the information listed above.
